National Hard Crab Derby
03/03/2023

The National Hard Crab Derby is held every year on Labor Day weekend.
This crab feast festival draws people from all over the nation and is considered a homecoming for many.
The festivities start early in the week with a crowning of a crustacean beauty queen and continues with crab picking & cooking contests and a weekend carnival.
The largest and only famous crab race takes place in the crab bowl, the excitement builds with a Saturday parade, and music concerts all weekend. Sunday draws a crowd overlooking the bay waters to watch the captains compete in a boat docking contest.
Conclusion of the family fun filled event comes after a beautiful Sunday night sunset, followed by fireworks lighting up the Chesapeake Bay sky.
